About Us

Our Mission & Vision

Unleash the potential of peer learning.

We’re inspired by the engagement and excitement of people stating opinions, defending their views and challenging traditional thinking.  We believe that employees and students have a tremendous amount to teach each other.

Anyone with an internet connection can teach and learn from peers in a fun, “gamified” environment.

Founder's Story

An Invention that Addressed Three Teaching Goals

Our founder, Lisa Warshaw, taught for decades at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. Three of her teaching goals:

  • Bring the excitement of in-class learning online
  • Guarantee that online peer review would be fair and
  • Teach skills of critical thinking and giving effective feedback.

As she considered a solution, she arrived home from work to find her 4 sons - ages 17, 14, 11 and 7 - gathered around the computer. They were excitedly submitting fantasy football bids - accompanied by extensive research on the players.   She wondered: “What could make schoolwork as fun and engaging as fantasy football? Could "gamifying" learning help with my teaching goals?" The answer led to her invention, a U.S. patent, and now to our company.
